Georgia Fall Seasonal Brews to look out for - Part 2 - Elliott P Hall: Brew Life & Biz

Georgia Fall Seasonal Brews to look out for – Part 2

Georgia Fall Seasonal Brews

Round 2 of Georgia Fall Seasonal Brews to find this year…

It’s really cool that there are so many breweries in Georgia that I can actually make 2 posts on fall seasonal brews choices. You can find the first post here if you haven’t read it. Go back only 5 years and you probably wouldn’t be able too. It’s great to see so many new breweries opening in my home state, and I feel very fortunate to be able to be a part of the growth of this industry here. Even if our brewery laws are dated (50th in the nation), there is still a thriving community of craft beer enthusiasts and breweries making their way and creating unique tasty brews for excited fans.

I know I’m usually prone to robust introductory paragraphs, so I’m going to change it up and just dive right into the beer list.

Georgia Fall Seasonal Brews

  • 5 Seasons Westside – Oktoberfest
    • 7-8% ABV
    • IBUs Unknown (my guess would be in the low 20s)
    • Available Sept-Oct
    • I tried this beer a couple weeks ago with some tacos from the 5 Seasons (West) brewpub. The food and beer are always good, and this beer is no exception to that rule. A nice amber hued matly Oktobefest classic in my opinion.

fall seasonal brews

  • Hop Alley – Oktoberfest
    • 6% ABV
    • IBUs Unknown
    • Available Sept-Oct
    • Another Oktoberfest brew from one of our local brewpubs in Atlanta. I haven’t had this beer yet, but the reviews on Facebook and Yelp for the beers are very good. If you are in Alpharetta definitely go by and try one, and let us know.

  • Orpheus Brewing – Peace.War.Truth.Lie
    • 5% ABV
    • IBUs Unkown
    • Available Aug-Jan
    • I’ve been enjoying this beer for awhile now. It has longer release than the other beers on this list, which allows you to have more time to find it and enjoy. It’s part of Orpheus’s rotating IPA series and one of my favorites from their line up.

  • Second Self – Mole’ Porter
    • 6.5% ABV
    • IBUs 27
    • Available Oct-Jan
    • I was able to try this beer awhile ago in the tasting room. It was delicious, however I wish I could have paired it with some different foods. If you are familiar with Second Self then you know their beers go great with a variety of dishes. This time I will make sure to pair it with their recommendation of pork tacos.

  •  Wild Heaven – Autumn Defense
    • 5.5% ABV
    • IBUs Unknown
    • Available Fall
    • Made with Munich and Vienna malts like it’s traditional German ancestors this beer is sounds fantastic. I have not tried it yet, but this is the first year it will be canned so I will be looking around for this brew through the season.
