Stopped into Hop City and found a Highland Brewing Daycation IPA
It’s been a busy few weeks. Summers always seem to get busy in the beer world. Then throw in getting married in a couple months and things get even more hectic. I haven’t done a Good Beer Shout-Out Post in awhile so I wanted to make sure I posted one today. Unfortunately, this will not be as in-depth as previous posts.
Highland Brewing was found in 1994 their original production site could produce up to 6500 barrels/year. Twenty-three years later and their new facility has the capacity to produce over 50K bbls/year. Highland Brewing partners with over a dozen non-profits per year and is the largest family-owned brewery in the South East. It was also the first legal brewery in Asheville since prohibition. The brewery has a unique history and if you’d like to learn more about it click here. Sorry, I said this post would be short.
Let’s talk about the Daycation IPA!
The beer pours well into the glass and has a nice medium yellow to a golden appearance with a frothy white head. Another IPA with notes of tropical fruit and citrus maybe some biscuit as well. The taste is fantastic! Just a little bit of malt and cracker with the tropical fruits returning and some bitterness. The beer has a light to medium body with nice carbonation. If you’re looking for a tasty low ABV IPA for the summer heat, don’t miss this beer.
