I’ve been seeing Southern Juice IPA popping up all over the place, so I had to try one.
And, I’m so glad I did! Southern Juice IPA is brewed by Jekyll Brewing in Alpharetta, Georgia. Jekyll Brewing is a brewery on the North end of the Greater Atlanta Metro. They opened in 2013 and have seen significate growth in the Atlanta market and beyond. I’ve actually written a previous post that goes into more details about the brewery itself. You can find that post here. But, this post is more about the beer so lets get to it!
Southern Juice IPA
…poured from an eye catching 12oz can into a chalice glass. The beer has a nice rich slightly dark orange appearance when it hits the glass. A little hazy with a nice frothy head that is hopefully releasing a lot of juicy aromas. And it does, when you sniff the glass you get a gambit of tropical flavors… mango, pineapple, grapefruit, orange, all working together for a nice dank blend. Of course, the taste is on point with the aromas, tropical and juicy, but with also a little malt and a hint of resin flavors. The beer itself has a light body with medium carbonation and finishes with a citrus lingering taste. I can definitely tell why I’ve been seeing it everywhere, this beer is delicious.
Another good beer, from a cool local Atlanta brewery.
