Wicked Weed never ceases to amaze.
Maybe, I’m just a fan of Milk Stouts, but Wicked Weed has made an enjoyable offering with this beer. Today we’re going to get straight to it and discuss the beer. The liquid poured into the glass black as night, and with a dark khaki colored barm that measured about 2 fingers. The aroma was similar to cinnamon cookies, maybe a little raisin, but if so very light. It tasted of cocoa and bits of vanilla, not much cinnamon. The lack of cinnamon surprised me after getting so much on the nose. However, the raisin added a nice jammy taste at the end. The overall body is medium, pretty smooth and nicely carbonated for what they are trying to do with this unique play within the style. All in all, this is a great beer, and perfect for the cold holiday night that I enjoyed it with the fiancee.
Hate do such a quick post, but it’s been a hectic week. I’ve already written a post on the founding and a bit about Wicked Weed Brewing in Asheville, NC. If you would like to learn more about Wicked Weed please click here.
