Just got home from work, so here’s a very quick post about a book I finished recently.
Benjamin Franklin: An American Life by Walter Isaacson is a detailed account of Ben’s life. It begins with his early childhood and continues through till his senior years. The average American knows about him being a founding father and his experiments with lightning. This book dives into much more of his life, and all of it is fascinating. Benjamin Franklin achieved more in nearly every decade of his 84 years than most people do in an entire lifetime. I’ve read a few book on Benjamin Franklin and have admired his ambition and curiosity about the world since I was young. He loved to learn and held that passion through his entire life. If you only know Benjamin Franklin from history class then I recommend this book to expand your knowledge of one of the greatest minds in American history. Isaacson gives a refreshing account of Franklin’s life plainly and directly while still keeping you engaged. If you are looking for a good read this book will not disappoint.
