Last week I got to go out to Trillium Vineyards in Villa Rica, GA. Where the owner Bruce showed me around their vineyards and answered more questions than I could have answered in a week. That man knows his grapes vines. I was going there to learn about soil and irrigation for growing our hops at Printer’s, Bruce answered every question I had and showed me how prevent bugs and diseases from infiltrating their yard.
It was a beautiful day in the vineyard, the vines were flourishing thanks to the hard-work of Bruce and his team. We talked for a couple hours as we walked the grounds. Bruce showed me the different style of trellises you can build some are easier for harvesting while others promote more yield, it was fascinating. They are also building a tasting room in a barn on the property and will be serving tastings and selling bottles of their wine and other local wines in early 2016. We talked about doing a collaboration with a hybrid beer/wine drink in the future, if so I will make a post about it.
All in all it was a great day, and I look forward to working with them in the future hopefully. You can learn more by checking out there website here.
